I hope that you are all getting settled into your new classes as we begin this Spring Semester!
1. Upcoming Meetings
On Thursday, February 5th, 2009, we will be holding the First General Meeting of Spring 2009. It will be held in VC 4-190 from 12:40 P.M. to 2:20 P.M. We will be discussing our events for the upcoming semester.
We will also be discussing how you can become more involved and help work as an integral part of these events by working behind the scenes and volunteering your time! This will help you to get to know our members better, as well as give you a chance to learn about leadership positions and opportunities that will be available for the club next year.
2. A Bittersweet Decision
At the end of this semester, I, Kevin Ng, will be stepping down as the President of G.L.A.S.S. The reason I will be stepping down is that I will be studying abroad during the Fall 2009 semester. Upon my return to Baruch the following spring, I will remain in G.L.A.S.S. on the Events Committee and will continue to volunteer my time to the club. I am stepping down to also pursue other opportunities both on and off campus, as well as for educational reasons. I am notifying everyone now because I hope to give members who are interested in running for the position to get more involved in G.L.A.S.S. and learn more about our events, their planning and organization, and working with Student Life.
This is a great opportunity and has allowed me to network with other organizations on campus, as well as employees at various companies. If you would like to learn more about this and other positions, please attend the Feb. 5th meeting.
3. Club Room Hours
New times in which the club room, VC 3-239, are posted on the right-hand side of this page. Please check back here often, as the times are subject to change in these next few days, as well as in the future.
The club room is our place to socialize, relax, or even study. We have comfy chairs and a computer with Internet access. Feel free to drop by any time, as we have an open door policy. If you are worried about other organizations, we like to note that we have been welcomed by our very friendly, tolerant, and understanding neighboring organizations in the club area. We also like to note that there's an "S" in G.L.A.S.S. for a reason, just in case you get made fun of when you're not gay or if you're not out! ;)
