About GLASS

GLASS is a group that has evolved through history.

In 1977, it was originally founded as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance of Baruch College, or GALA.  It served as a support group and safe haven for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students at Baruch College.  The group's purpose was to educate and create a tolerant community in the college.  It served as a social club, an educational club, and a political club.

Throughout the years, the group evolved to become a gay-straight alliance, as many friends came to support their fellow students.

In the Fall of 2007, to mark this transition, the group was renamed The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Society of Baruch College, or GLASS.  Today, after being in existence for more than 30 years, the group still provides a safe haven for all students to express their feelings and strives to build a tolerant community at Baruch and to bring more awareness to students about the LGBT Community.

Events Committee Meeting/Club Fair

Hello All!

I hope your weeks are starting off well.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23rd, there will be an Events Committee meeting from 12:40 to 2:20 in our Club Room, VC 3-239. We will be writing up the skit for "That's So Gay." We will also be working on our posters for the Club Fair. All members are welcome to attend this meeting.

On Thursday, September 25th, Baruch will be holding its annual Club Fair in the Main Gym (B2 Level of the VC) from 12:30 to 2:30. GLASS will have a table at the event promoting our club. If you would like to help out on Thursday, just drop by our table on Thursday at any time during the fair. Any amount of time that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

We hope to see you all this week and wish you all the best!
