Bash Back & Allies for Equality

LGBT History Month is under full swing! We had a great turnout and discussion yesterday involving our speakers. It was great to know that attendees came away from the event, inspired by the professionals that came to speak.

Moving forward, we have a more great events just around the corner. Tomorrow we will be featuring "Bash Back!" A self-defense class that will feature lessons and demonstrations from Master Elena Waldman. Come over the 2nd floor lobby in the NVC building during club hours to learn effective techniques for defense. By advised: Space is limited and mats will be given out on a first come, first served basis!

Secondly, we will later in the evening be featuring a movie screening of the film: "Equality U," which follows one groups' journey across the country to promote equality and fight homophobia across college campuses in the US. Refreshments will be served and a discussion will follow after the film.

This month is turning out to be a great opportunity to spread the word for equality, build community, and getting active at Baruch College. We look forward to seeing you all there at the following events!

National Coming Out Day!

We are excited to announce our first event for LGBT History Month. This October 11, we will be holding a Speaker Event called, "Out in the Workplace!" The panel will feature prominent business professionals as they share and discuss their personal experiences with being out in business.

The event will be held this Tuesday, October 11, in the NVC building room 3-165 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm. Food and refreshments will be served at this event.

We hope this day is filled with wonderful, supportive moments for everyone already out and those coming out to friends and family. This organization has truly inspired me every single day and I am so thankful for all of you. Thank you for all the news, stories, and happy moments you all have shared and continue to share. :)

Much love for the LGBT community. We hope to see you all at the event!

The mission of this month is to provide role models, teach history, build community, and make the important statement of the LGBT community’s important contributions. That being said, we have a load of exciting events lined up for this coming month. We look forward to seeing everyone come out and participate throughout October as we share and engage in a variety of great events for LGBT History month.
